FAQ's

What kind of research can I do?

Cornell has over 100 fields of study, so you can study almost anything. In this year's program we have students doing lab and field research, humanties research, and working on engineering projects. Students interested in medical research will be referred to the Weill Cornell Medical Center in NYC. There are a few things that Cornell does not have. We don't have clinical psychology or social work. Other than that, if you can think of it, we probably do it!

How do I get matched up with a faculty member?

Once we receive your completed application, several people read your personal statement and look at the coursework that you have done. We then send your application to faculty members who we think are the best match for you. Once they have agreed to take you on, we will send you their contact information. You should communicate with your mentor to make sure that you are interested in working with them for the summer.

Some students have learned to cruise web sites at Cornell to find faculty that may have matching interests. Please share those names with us and we will contact them. Just be aware that all of your choices may not work out. Some faculty are not here for the summer or some may have research projects that are completely full. Any help from you will help us find you a mentor that you will have a great relationship with for many years to come!
