The Office of Undergraduate Biology provides comprehensive, high-quality academic and research advising services to prospective students, current undergraduates, alumni and faculty. Our primary mission is to serve the diverse needs of students while ensuring that they successfully navigate the biology major and achieve their academic and career aspirations. In support of our mission we establish the following goals:
- to work in partnership with Biology faculty and staff, as well as college and University administrations to develop and maintain an outstanding curriculum that broadly educates our students in the biological sciences
- to provide information consistently and accurately to current students, prospective students and families, and University advising colleagues regarding course selection, research opportunities and career options
- to recognize that individual differences exist among students
- to remain abreast of advising and research trends, student development issues, and scientific advancements, both at Cornell and in the broader scientific and academic communities, through reading current literature and participating in appropriate conferences and meetings.
