Students commonly enroll in Biochemistry and Physics during their junior year. Most students are also taking courses toward completing their Program of Study in biology and distribution requirements for their respective college.
During the junior year, students interested in conducting undergraduate research can enroll in BIOG 2990 or BIOG 4990 (variable credit) after having secured a position in a laboratory.
For students planning to take the MCATs in the spring of this year, we recommend that they plan a manageable academic schedule during the spring semester in order to allow time to study for the MCATs.
Many students study abroad during the junior year. If you are pre-med and plan to take the MCATs in the spring, we recommend that you study abroad during the fall semester.
